Remake policy?

I'm currently in a roleplay that is just about dead due to several RP's leaving and the absence of our GM. Those of us left and even a few newcomers who want to join but can't (due to the missing GM) have discussed doing a Remake. My question is what would the policy be on Remaking someone else's RP when they've been gone from the site for some time? Obviously I would give all credit to the original GM but without them here we can't continue.

Is this something that we could acceptable do?
